Group swim lessons are a great way for your child to learn and strengthen their skills in the water amongst friends.

The Daviess County Family YMCA is offering Levels 1-2 for children ages 4-12 this fall. All classes follow the YMCA’s overall swimming lesson curriculum. Levels are explained below. LEVEL 1: is the beginning of water acclimation where your child will increase their comfort in the water, learn basic water safety skills and will lay the foundation for their future swimming progress. This level is suggested for 4-6 year olds, but can be for 7-12 year olds if they are just beginning their swim journey and/or have fears in the water.

LEVEL 2: encourages forward movement in the water and basic water safety skills performed more independently. This level is suggested for 7-9 year olds but can be for more advanced 4-6 year olds or 10-12 year olds who can begin to swim more by themselves.
