Paula Van Tyle-Smith, Director

I moved to Washington seven years ago, but my hometown is Lawrenceburg, Indiana. I have lived in various places in Indiana, Ohio and Chile. I have two adult children that live in the Midwest and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. I have worked with the Daviess County Family YMCA since 2016 in numerous positions. I enjoy swimming and teaching classes. I am a Certified Personal Trainer as well. I love animals, I like to travel as often as possible, and I have a heart for non-profit organizations. I look forward to continuing to serve my community and my YMCA, who are like family to me.

Miranda Mandabach, Youth and Family Director

I was born and raised here in Daviess County. Growing up, the YMCA played a notable part in my youth and teenage years, whether it was playing youth basketball, attending one of the many youth programs offered, or later using the wellness center for a healthier lifestyle. Which is why I am very excited to be in this position and can’t wait to work with the youth and others in the community!

Brandy Washler, Finance Director

Hi, my name is Brandy Washler. I am a lifelong Hoosier originally from Connersville, IN, and my family and I relocated to Bedford, IN in early 2021. I graduated from IU with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics and received my MBA from USI in 2020. I have worked in Finance and HR for over 15 years, and specifically for YMCA associations since 2012. The mission of the Y and the value the organization brings to the community continues to be a strong passion of mine.

Jessika Henning, Aquatics Director

My love for the water started at a young age as my parents enrolled me in swim lessons at the YMCA in Evansville where I was born and raised. After that, I participated in various other swim lessons and have been a swim instructor and lifeguard through the YMCA since I was 16 years old. Teaching children how to swim is one of my passions along with outreach, missions and music. I love playing and singing guitar in my spare time as well as spending time with my husband, TJ, and our two dogs and cat. We enjoy escape rooms, roller coasters, going to the movies, to name just a few. I love working at the YMCA and serving this community!

Famie Cox, Youth Coordinator

Hi, my name is Famie Cox. I graduated Vincennes University in 2017 with an associate in child development. I have one son, who is my biggest pride and joy. I enjoy anything community related, whether it’s being team mom for youth sports, serving at church, or anything in between. In what free time I do find, I love fishing, geocaching, exploring nature, and sharing Jesus’ love to those who may need it the most, and to those that think they don’t need it at all.

Lisa Potts, Membership Experience Director

My name is Lisa Taber-Potts. I am originally from the Massachusetts coast. I moved to Washington in 1991.  I attained an Associate Degree in Business Finance from Vincennes University. My family includes my husband, Michael, 5 daughters and 7 grandchildren.  I enjoy painting, drawing, sewing and reading, as well as traveling. I look forward to meeting new people and serving our facility and community.

Daybria Christie, Membership Coordinator

I have been working at the YMCA since last December. I love meeting all the new people who walk through the door and getting to know them on a personal level.  I also love supporting everyone on their journey to bettering themselves. I am a graduate of Washington High School and will be a college student this Fall.

Cori Stone, Aquatics Coordinator

I moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Washington in February of 2023. Swimming has been my life for as long as I can remember, and when I saw a position for a swim instructor was open, I knew I was where I was supposed to be. In June of 2023, the Aquatics Coordinator position was offered to me. My love for the community, swimming and our YMCA made my decision an easy one. I’m a very proud dog and guinea pig mom outside of the Y. I enjoy writing, art and weightlifting in my free time.
