Do you love the water? Do you enjoy having fun? JOIN Swim Club today! You will learn new swimming techniques, sportsmanship, gain confidence and will learn about aquatic competition as you participate in swim club.
All swim club participants must:
- be at least 6 years old and no older than 17 years old by the first-class day
- be confident in the water and able to swim 25 meters (length of the pool) unassisted and without stopping, using freestyle or breaststroke
- wear a one-piece bathing suit for girls and swim trunks for boys (swim goggles and swim caps are strongly recommended)
At the first practice session, all swimmers will perform a timed 25-meter swim and will be assigned to the appropriate skill level group for the next practice. There will also be a brief parent meeting in the balcony room at that same time. Your swimmer’s practice session will be subject to change depending upon their improved swim times. The remaining practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays during each season:
- Group 1: 6-6:45pm
- Group 2: 6:45-7:30pm
The last four Tuesdays of the season will be swim meets. Swimmers will need to be on deck and ready for warm up by 6:15pm, and the meet will begin at 6:30pm for those particular days. All swimmers receive ribbons after meets. “Speeding tickets” are given at the last two meets when swimmers beat their personal best times.
The very last day of swim club will consist of a pool party for swimmers and their family and an award ceremony all at 6-7pm.
