Your child will learn new swimming techniques, sportsmanship, gain confidence and will learn about aquatic competition as they participate in swim club.
All swim club participants must:
- be at least 6 years old and no older than 17 years old by the first-class day
- be confident in the water and able to swim 25 meters (length of the pool) unassisted and without stopping, using freestyle or breaststroke
- wear a one-piece bathing suit for girls and swim trunks for boys (swim goggles and swim caps are strongly recommended)
At the first practice session at 6pm, all swimmers will perform a timed 25-meter swim and assigned to the appropriate skill level group for the next practice. There will also be a brief parent meeting in the balcony room at that same time. Your swimmer’s practice session will be subject to change depending upon their improved swim times. The remaining practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays:
- Group 1: 6-6:45pm
- Group 2: 6:45-7:30pm
The last three Tuesdays of the session will be their swim meets. Swimmers will need to be on deck and ready for warm up by 6:15pm, and the meet will begin at 6:30pm for those particular days. All swimmers receive ribbons after meets. “Speeding tickets” are given at the last two meets when swimmers beat their personal best times.
The very last day of swim club will consist of a pool party for swimmers and their family and an award ceremony all at 6pm.
All swimmers, parents and family members must enter through the main entrance and check in at the front desk for every time they come whether practices or meets.
***Note*** Summer Swim Club includes an optional T-shirt for swimmers. This is an additional $10 that can be paid during registration.
